Andrea Casiraghi and his fiancée, Tatiana Santo Domingo are now parents to a baby boy.
The Monegasque Princely Palace announced the couple welcomed their first-born child yesterday, on March 21. According to the press release, both the mother and the baby are doing well. No further details have been released at the moment although it is expected we will get more information, including the baby’s name, in upcoming days.
Andrea is the eldest son of Princess Caroline, Hereditary Princess of Monaco and Princess of Hanover, and her second husband Stefano Casiraghi. Since Prince Albert doesn’t have a legitimate issue as of yet, his eldest sister Caroline is his Heiress Presumptive. Andrea is Caroline’s heir. Tatiana is the daughter of Columbian businessman Julio Mario Santo Domingo, Jr and Vera Rechulski, a socialite. Her paternal grandfather was cited as the second richest man in Colombia by the Forbes in 2011.
Since Andrea and Tatiana aren’t married, their baby boy is not in the Line of Succession to the Monegasque Throne as of now. However, in accordance with the Constitution, the moment the couple marries, their son will be included in the succession line.
The couple’s engagement (and Tatiana’s pregnancy) was announced in July of 2012.
Congratulations to Andrea, Tatiana, and the Monegasque Princely Family!
